On March 17th 2020 the world went into lockdown. My partner and I were in charge of coming up with a concept for the entire company to respond to the crisis. In less than 24 hours we had found the concept, written the script and began production with a 3-day deadline to tell small business owners that the world may be closed, but they are still here and GoDaddy will do everything it can to support them.

The concept was extended to a massive initiative and a series of spots done throughout the year– 100% remote for the first time ever and using mostly only found footage.

GoDaddy Make The World You Want

This is the campaign we were working on in 2020. Halfway through finishing it, the lockdown started. Sound mix and other small things were not finished, since it was canceled immediately, but I still want to share it because I’m really proud of the work we did for a long time. The campaign used, as always, real GoDaddy customers and their stories. The challenge for me was to be there ghostwriter. Interview them and get to know them really well to speak like they speak and write their own words. The next challenge would be getting people who are, mostly, not used to being on camera, to perform for us. And finally, getting non-professional announcers to record VO. This is as far as we got, 2020 sucked.

For the 2018 World Cup in Russia, soccer fans in the US had to wake up super early to watch the games and then get through the workday. So, we put our most powerful truck to work and created the strongest coffee ever.

A high caffeine blend, 68% Robusta / 32% Arabica, embodying Tundra’s V8 engine.

The result: 381 horsepower in a cup.
